This quote is from Andrew Carnegie, the person who led the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century. You're probably wondering what this has to do with inspiring teamwork in your marriage. I'll explain that and more on today's episode.
You'll be inspiring teamwork by scheduling a meeting with your spouse with the intention of scheduling subsequent meetings after the initial one. However, before you start planning your meeting, you'll want to have an agenda first. Next, you'll want to put a definite time allotment and respect your spouse's time once he or she agrees to the meeting. Be sure to leave enough time for back-and-forth discussion; this meeting isn't going to be one where you're spending time barking orders at your spouse. It's meant to inspire teamwork through focusing on common objectives and discussing in a non-confrontational way how the two of you can obtain those common objectives.
