When we are in the process of getting out of debt, we naturally decide to cut or reduce expenses that we don't need. We also make decisions to not spend money on anything that is not written down or otherwise entered in the budget. These are good things, and we definitely don't want to change these good behaviors.
However, we do tend to develop a mentality where we can't (or won't) spend money due to a lack of resources. We're constantly reminding ourselves that we need to stay within a certain budget in order to have enough resources to use to attack debt. While this is a good way to think while we are in the process of getting out of debt, it's not the way that we'll need to be thinking eventually once we are out of debt and on our way to getting into prosperity. It's actually good for us to visualize that second half of our goal of getting into prosperity every once in a while.
How do we do this? The simplest way to do this is to do a quick exercise that will help you to visualize what your life will be like without debt payments. I'll explain how to do that again in this episode. Once you have visualized this, now you'll want to extend that visualization to include steps that you can take in order to get into prosperity. You'll remind yourself why you are doing this whole getting out of debt thing in the first place, which really is only the first half of our bigger goal. This show is about getting out of debt and getting into prosperity. There is an entire second half to work on once we have completed the first half of getting out of debt. The good thing, though, is that the second half is much more fun than the first!
