Mark Chapman is back to host this League Cup episode of the Footy daily pod and it all kicks off at the London Stadium, as West Ham finally ended Manchester City’s undefeated League Cup record after 1,827 days. The drama continued until the very end after a very tense penalty shoot-out. In the thick of all the action was former West Ham defender, Scott Minto and 5 live sport’s very own Alistair Bruce-Ball – and they give their take on what was initially a very exciting goalless 90 minutes. Pep Guardiola also pops up on the pod to give his take on bowing out of the tournament.

Not only that, it was a winning night for Liverpool after they got the better of Championship side, Preston North End, in their last-16 tie. Senior football reporter, Ian Dennis and Liverpool legend, Mark Lawrenson were at Deepdale and even though Liverpool came away with the win, Lawro was not too impressed by Jurgen Klopp’s side, with even Klopp making a pod appearance after admitting his team “didn’t play good football.”

The London Stadium was not the only place that had penalty drama – as Leicester were made to go all the way by Brighton. We hear from a relieved Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium as well.
