· Color commentator for the 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2018 Winter Olympics

· Established the Dan Jansen Foundation in 1994, which contributes to youth sports, educational programs, and victims and families afflicted with leukemia and it’s related cancers

· 1995 recipient of the James E. Sullivan award, presented annually to the outstanding amateur athlete in the United States
