The following year, Blake Sennett (driving force behind the band along with Jenny Lewis) said in an interview, "I would say that if Rilo Kiley were ... hmmm ... a human being ... hmmm ... he's probably laying on his back in a morgue with a tag on his toe. A couple of months after this colourful description of the "corpse" of Rilo Kiley, Sennett was asked if his reference to Rilo Kiley as a "corpse" referred to the fact that Rilo Kiley was now dead. He replied, "I never say never. I loved Rilo Kiley - I loved writing with Jenny. I think she's a great artist and great to write with. I think we're not there yet. Maybe one day we'll dust it off and give it a go; I'd be open to it. I think it was fun - for all of the pitfalls, it was great. I had a great time in Rilo Kiley. I always did." Alex Newell - one of the first transgender characters on television After applying to be in the cast of The Glee Project with over 34,000 other applicants, Alex became the show's first runner up. Alex's self-taped audition had over 1 million MySpace views. Consequently, the panel was so impressed they invited Alex onto two episodes of the show.
