Welcome to the show which today is being broadcast from deep space. Twink is most definitely at the flight desk and is taking us into unknown realms of the cosmos. We'll encounter moonbeams and sunbeams on the first leg of our interstellar journey but soon leave them behind. As our course deepens we'll encounter the insidious and relentless follower Bluebeard and finally send off our love letter to the gigantically faraway Sara from the Sahara. It's one hell of a trip, so get on board as we explode into deep space and burn out far away in the unknown depths of the universe. Eventually we return to earth and have other business to contend with, for example Tobin's New Music Shot - HÅN. She's bringing the track Gymnasion to us. Listen on to find out what we think of it. More excellent dark vibes from Beak> and Tobin being vexed by perm lotion and Keith West. Epic percussionist Georgia fills our ears with cock on drum beats and introduces us to Sheila the Dealer - bottom line is Richard loses himself in the ambience. Tobin discusses his gig at Retrofest this year and picks out his favourite act from the weekend. If you want to catch his next set there then tickets are available here for Retrofest in August 2019. Bringing up the rear is another of Tobin's recent fetishes, Toots & The Maytals. Is there some sort of secret code in this song title or are we going too deep? OK - so what's our initial take on Twink Think Pink IV Return to Deep Space? Well, officially Tobin is looking forward to listening to the whole vinyl LP as he didn't catch the whole record that was kindly sent to us on pre-release. That was entirely my own pleasure. And what a journey. I am already a big Twink fan, particularly his work with The Pink Fairies but I don't believe that tainted my view of this. OK, so yeah I chose perhaps 3 of the more cosmic feeling tracks off of the LP but I don't have time to play 'em all! There is also a different feel to a few of the tracks. This difference in texture is also I guess down to the involvement of Moths & Locusts, something we didn't really delve into in the show. This whole aural soundscape is one of wonderment, isolation, cold, endless drifting and joyous exploratory navigation. The concept works really well and delivers on its title promise. Again,
