The Florence School of Regulation presents:
Jean-Michel Glachant's Energy Today no.016
25 May 2015 from the 38th IAEE International Conference in Antalya, Turkey

Former President of IAEE and Acting President of Italian AE, Prof. Carlo-Andrea Bollino talks with Jean-Michel Glachant about the implementation and status of renewables in Italy. In this interview we learn that although often overlooked, Italy is one of the leading countries in the move away from fossil fuels.

“…The Italian public was environmentally conscious and didn’t want to build new fossil fuel based generation plants, but they wanted renewable energy”

“Now after the crisis the rate of return from an investment in a small photovoltaic roof on your home is much better than a treasury bill of the Italian government, but that was the right signal at the time to give to a public that was suspicious”
