Recorded 22 September in Brussels

Here he tells Jean-Michel about the highs and lows of European climate policy over the last decade, as well as the future of carbon markets around the world.

"We were increasing GDP while we were decreasing our emissions significantly."

"Our policy is much more coherent than what it resembles at first sight."

"We all know that optimally, we should have the same carbon price around the globe, but we know that the world isn't perfect."

"It's a success that in Europe, with 28 member states, we have the same carbon price."

"The fact that all countries have to come forward with a policy pledge merits much more attention than it has been given so far."
