Moderator: Riccardo Galletta

Does an adequate framework for projects of common interest imply moving towards a dedicated regulatory framework? Or is a default national regulatory framework more suitable?

When facing those questions from a European perspective, the EU and ACER’s roles assume key importance.

The webinar will analyse the following topics:
1. Why some countries have introduced dedicated regulatory frameworks for important electricity infrastructure investments
2. Main differences between the dedicated regulatory frameworks for important electricity infrastructure investments and the default national frameworks
3. The role of the EU and ACER to ensure an adequate regulatory framework for projects of common interest

Leonardo Meeus is associate professor of Energy Markets at the Vlerick Business School in Brussels and part-time professor at the Florence School of Regulation of the European University Institute. He has recently published a policy brief on the topic of this webinar.
