FSP asked our listeners to make a list of who they perceive to be the top 7 Cornerbacks & Safeties heading into the upcoming NFL season. This list is strictly related to their 2020-21 stats/ performance and who has the best chance of maintaining their great play heading into next season.

NFL defenses will ask very different things of their cornerbacks, depending on the scheme they run. Some cornerbacks are tasked with shutting down their side of the field in zone, while other top cornerbacks are given the job of following the opposing team’s No. 1 wide receiver in man coverage. It’s part of what makes identifying the league’s best at the position so challenging. In today’s NFL, safeties are tasked to do more than ever before. It’s not an easy job against offenses that are more diverse and explosive in the passing game than ever before, which makes the best in the game even more impressive.
