Niccolo Machiavelli’s ‘The Prince’, written in the early 16th Century whilst living in exile, was a gift to Lorenzo Medici?—?defacto ruler of the Florentine republic?—?arguably as a means to earn his place in society as a statesman again.

The Prince is to this day considered one of the earliest works of modern philosophy, and indeed of modern political philosophy, and is the book that spawned the use of the term Machiavellian to refer to cunning and unscrupulous, especially in politics.

However, the book, which only numbers some 120 pages, is full of lessons that one can apply in leadership roles, in business and more broadly, in life.

This installment of Fast Fix Friday unpacks one such lesson.
