What happened to Jesus after His death? The Bible unequivocally declares that Jesus has risen. Paul has declared “that Christ died…was buried…rose again…. was seen” meaning He appeared (3-5). Last Sunday Pastor Bryan showed how the gospel gives us death-defying hope because Christ has been raised from the dead. Jesus was crucified because He claimed to be God which was blasphemy to the Jews. Jesus’ resurrection is the divine verification that Jesus was not a blasphemer but indeed the Son of God. Romans 1:4, “declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.”

Jesus’ bodily resurrection from the dead provides the key to His identity and the meaning of His death.
Paul has been showing what it means if Jesus was not raised from the dead. He is now doing an about-face declaring the fact of Jesus’ bodily resurrection.
