The book of Daniel reveals that there is another world beyond this one. Chapter 10 begins the final section of Daniel. This chapter records Daniel’s preparation to receive his final prophecy. Chapter 11 is basically the contents of the prophecy which covers the same time frame as Chapter 8. Chapter 12 is primarily the epilogue to the book. Daniel as usual gives us the timeframe of this vision (1). About 42,000 Jews had chosen to return to Judah. They were opposed and harassed and the work on the Temple came to a halt. This was likely the reason for Daniel’s mourning and fasting
