This Sunday we will be moving into Daniel 2 in our series Daniel, Living Contrary to Culture. This chapter introduces the subject of prophecy. It also highlights the reality of divine revelation. Our materialistic culture believes that we live in a closed system. They reject the possibility of a transcendent God Who stands outside of the universe. Daniel shows us an example of the importance of prayer. He learns firsthand that God is also imminent and involved in His creation and in the lives of His creatures. The book of Daniel shows us how God’s revelation has been communicated to us in language and inscripturated in the Bible. The God Who is there has spoken and we have His inspired revelation.
