We are in the midst of a series on worldviews. We have been learning the elements of a Christian worldview. We are also considering some of the characteristic of the secular worldviews of our day. We will have teachers and professors who will tell you that your convictions and beliefs are based upon faith not facts. They will then claim that their views are based upon facts and reason. This is the great deception. There is no such thing as an unbiased
theory. Every worldview is based upon an ultimate premise. Those who embrace evolution believe in a materialistic universe with no ultimate purpose. Time plus chance plus impersonal forces have produced the world we live in. This cannot be proven by science and human reason is not infallible. Therefore those who hold that view hold it by faith. We will see today that all such theories contain both religious and philosophical assumptions. The claim that their ideas are fact based while Christianity is only faith based is simply not true.
