Fatimata Cham on Education Equality, Activism, and Publishing a Book of Poetry - a podcast by Emma Havighorst
from 2020-01-24T11:00:34
On today’s episode, Fatimata Cham joins us to talk about how she got into activism and fighting for education equality, being a teen advisor to the United Nations, and writing and publishing a book of poetry.
Fatimata Cham is a first-year student attending Lafayette College. Her activism journey began in 2015, when she noticed that there was a missing puzzle piece in the conversation revolving around equity and education. She began to lead discussions at her school about diversity and inclusion and later became a teen advisor to the United Nations Foundation Girl Up and began to advocate for gender equality around the globe. Fatimata scaled up her work and became a published poet to the book Perfectly Imperfect.
