Arthritis care is a staple for any geriatric clinician. We work with arthritis every day, whether it is the reason for the referral or a contributor to increases in sedentary behaviour and subsequent deconditioning.

Many clinicians arthritis is arthritis and the literature hasn’t changed substantially and that isn’t really true. There is a lot of new literature that can guide our clinical reasoning in arthritis care.

In this episode, Christina goes through 6 myths that need to be busted in arthritis care.

1.OA is ONLY wear and tear on the joint

2.Knee replacements are inevitable / Knee replacements are the only option

3.The image is irrelevant

4.You can’t kneel after joint replacement

5.Hyaluronic acid is beneficial

6.Hip precautions reduce hip dislocations
