"Dear diary,

I woke up cranky today! I hadn’t slept well, and I didn’t want to get out of bed. I tossed over to the other side and covered my head with my fleece blanket. I was just drifting off to sleep when the rude sound of my 12-year-old brother running down the hallway and calling my mum, startled me – seriously, I could strangle that boy!

Frustrated and annoyed I jumped out of bed and reluctantly got ready for the day. My best friend Angela was still on holidays with her family and wouldn’t come till the end of the week. I groaned – I missed her. I wish I could wave my finger and Friday would arrive in a blink of an eye...."
