Hi, my name is Tipani. Permission to respond to Ridwan's question with his question is “With the many negative effects of globalization affecting the next generation of the nation, is the role of civic education needed to overcome this problem? "
As in law number 20 of 2003 Education is a planned effort in the process of mentoring and learning for individuals to grow and develop into human beings who are independent, responsible, creative, knowledgeable, healthy, and have noble character. Then, the era of globalization is a reformation era where everything has changed 180 °. Sophistication, freedom, has become the hallmark of this era. Freedom here we need to underline. This is because freedom has positive and negative impacts. Has a positive impact, for example exchanging people's thoughts, getting to know each other's culture, and others. However, we also need to highlight the negative impact. With the freedom of access, such as internet access, it can open up a very wide pornographic space. If there is no shield, Indonesian citizens will be carried away by the negative currents of globalization. To prevent this, civics education can play a role as a shield for this. Cultivating moral values is very useful from this one subject. Because, moral is what matters. When a person has been taught good moral values, he will hold on to these values and will not be easily carried away by bad values.
