Johanna Gomez: Co-host and Reporter for NBC 6 ‘6 in the Mix’ - a podcast by Alex Pender & Gaby Ortega

In this episode we sit down with Johanna Gomez who is currently the co-host and reporter for ‘6 in the Mix’ the daily lifestyle show on NBC 6 South Florida, airing weekdays. She joined NBC 6 in 2014 as a regular contributor to ‘6 in the Mix’, and NBC 6 News.

Prior to this, Johanna spent over five years as a reporter for WPLG Local 10, South Florida’s ABC affiliate network and covered a wide variety of stories at the station.

Johanna also had the privilege of working for Fox Sports Sun as a sideline reporter for two seasons, and contributed during the Miami HEAT’s 2012 and 2013 championship seasons, where she won a Suncoast Emmy for the live HEAT championship celebration coverage. In 2008 she also worked as an in-game entertainment host for the Florida Marlins Baseball team.

We sit down for a candid conversation about growing up in New York, her start in the business, life as a mom, and about her breast cancer diagnosis at age 37. Johanna is resilient, honest, and full of valuable advice about living a full, courageous life.
