·       Being Made New – When we first came to God, many of us were introduced to God through religious teaching and doctrine. Unfortunately, religion does not set us free, or change anything about us.  Just as the Lord offered the Pharisees and the Sadducees a new beginning, a fresh start, the Lord is offering us a way to be made new through him. We cannot reject what the Lord is offering us, and stay religious minded. We need to be made new in Christ, in the attitudes of our mind and heart.  This work was not completed when we accept the Lord, and baptized, this was just the beginning. Many of us have gone through this process, but we were not made new, or we did not remain new in Christ. We allowed the world and sinful desires to turn us from God. The Lord had to make us over, but we have to be careful. The Lord wants us to become the salt of the earth, but once we are salted, we cannot allow ourselves to become unsalted by the cares of life. God will not salt us again. We have been made new, we must remain new and mature in the Lord so we must remain the salt of God.
