In this episode I speak with Brian Berneman. Brian is trained in Tibetan Buddhism, yoga, meditation and also has his graduate degree in Neurosciences. Brian tells us what it was like living in a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center for 2 years. Brian tells us how he learned to bring his meditation and yoga practices into his regular life. 

 Brian also co-founded the “Conscious Action” movement in New Zealand. He explains how he was motivated to create an environment movement that was more optimistic rather than leaving people feeling depressed and helpless. He talks about how we should understand our own values and see if we are living our values in our everyday actions. 

Brian also shares some ways he learned from his Buddhist training on how to deal with mental health issues. He talks about how we have normalized an unhealthy mental health in our society. He shares how to process your feeling properly and how to live in your body rather than always in your head.
