Food, color, and Chakra. All intermingle with the word energy. The food we eat brighten us than just calories, but also an energy level that contributes to our mood, mindset, and thoughts. Ancient medicine refers to these energy center as chakra and modern medicine as our endocrine system. Dr. Deena Minich teaches us on to use color in our food choice to balance our mind and emotions. What if the solution is to eat the energy we want to become?

Chakra

Chakra is derived from Sanskrit and essentially means "wheel." It relates back to Ayurvedic medicine and many mystical East Indian traditions in which they noticed that there were a lot of activities in the body in certain places. If you look in Western medicine, you would see that the Chakra system is very much aligned with the neuroendocrine system.

We've got the Root Chakra or the Adrenal gland, the place of fleeing or being frightened. Then, the Sacral Chakra which is all about reproduction that is the ovaries and testes. The Solar Plexus Chakra is the pancreas which is an endocrine organ that fuses out a lot of enzymes that help us digest and transform. Another one, the Heart Chakra which is connected to the thymus. The Throat Chaka is connected to the thyroid gland. Then, we have the Third Eye Chakra which is the pituitary gland which hangs in the middle of the head. We also have a small gland called the pineal gland which I associate with the Crown Chakra. It's the center of light and how our body regulates light in the finer energies of the day, of the seasons, of the planet. Dr. Deanna Minich calls them the 7 systems of health.

Color

When people eat a certain way, it separates them from other people. Diets seem to be dividing. They are not unifying. What is unifying no matter what our eating preference is? Color is a unifying force. Color is creativity. It's around us and serves as an environmental stimulus. It impacts our physiology and psychology. Color is physical and psychological. It's powerful and has the ability to change people's patterns.

Hence, if we eat food of different colors, our different bodily systems will catch on with the vibration of that color and feel better as well.
