The doctrine that Jesus died for our sicknesses as well as our sins probably originated in the Holiness Movement in America towards the end of the nineteenth century. It was adopted by the early Pentecostals and forms part of the basis of faith of many major Pentecostal denominations today. It also forms part of the teachings of the Faith movement.
