In this episode of Great Women in Compliance, Lisa speaks with Caitlyn Tobey, who is best known for starting and developing a well-known study group for the SCCE CCEP and CCEP-I program.  When Mary and Lisa were discussing potential guests, they both thought about Caitlyn because of the growth of her study groups and network.  Caitlyn is an active member of the GWIC podcast community on  LinkedIn, and at almost the same time, gave feedback saying it would be great to hear from some individuals who are newer to the compliance profession...and was very surprised to get a message asking her if she would participate.
Caitlyn is a research and development paralegal at EMD Serono, and started her compliance career in the mortgage industry.  She talks about how she managed to grow her career in healthcare compliance and then started her study group for the CCEP after she benefited from one when she received healthcare compliancer certification.  Remarkably, she does this at no cost to the study group attendees, and her last session had 90 attendees.  She talks about how the groups have allowed her to give back to the compliance community as well as grow her own network.  It is so exciting to see these groups of dedicated compliance professionals grow and evolve, and a perfect episode for the one that follows National Compliance Officer Day.
