This week on The Green Rush we’re publishing the virtual press conference announcing the completion of the Capstone Campaign, a $30 million fundraising effort headlined by the Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative and MAPS, to support the final stretch of Phase 3 trials required to seek FDA approval of MDMA-assisted psychotherapy for PTSD.

Featuring Joe Green, Co-Founder of PSFC; Rick Doblin, Founder and Executive Director of MAPS; Amy Emerson, CEO of MAPS Public Benefit Corps as well as major donors Tim Ferriss, Author and Entrepreneur and Alan Fournier, Founder of Pennant Capital, the press conference highlights the excitement around the potential of psychedelics, the wholesale reassessment of drugs like MDMA and psilocybin and their potential to help address some of the defining mental health crises of our time.

With an interim analysis of the first Phase 3 trial showing greater than 90% probability to significantly effect treating PTSD, this final funding round could help put MAPS’ clinical trial on track to submit to the FDA for approval as soon as 2022. For those following the path to FDA approval for psychedelics, this episode is a must listen to.

So don’t sit back, lean forward and enjoy!

Joe Green, Co-Founder and President of PSFC

Joe Green is the co-founder and President of PSFC. Joe supports causes that have a high potential for systemic impact, yet limited resources to achieve their full potential. PSFC was created because medical trials of MDMA and psilocybin have shown compelling evidence to treat millions of people who suffer from mental health issues, but there was insufficient funding to complete the next phase of trials. Joe is a social entrepreneur who has spent his career addressing significant challenges by marrying technology with community organizing. Joe co-founded Causes, which empowered more than 100 million people to make an impact; NationBuilder, a leading software provider for organizers; and FWD.us, which has mobilized the tech community around immigration and criminal justice reform. He is currently the chairman and co-founder of Treehouse, an organization that builds communal housing apartment buildings in Los Angeles, and chairman of Or Halev, a center for Jewish meditation.
