The Insurrection of 31 May 1793 consumed the French Revolution, but it didn't have the results many might expect. Furthermore, despite the appearances of a united front, the revolutionary cohorts of Paris were heavily divided as the Enragés (Enraged) and the Jaocbins jockeyed for supremacy.
