After celebrating our supposed Independence, Phil and Josh went over the weekend that was in motorsports for Episode 68 of the Grip Strip Podcast.  William Clyde Elliott continued his road racing dominance at Road America and Josef Newgarden won on the 50th anniversary of Penske Racing's first IndyCar win (Pocono 1971 with Mark Donahue) at Mid-Ohio after another masterclass.  Max Verstappen continued his charge to a first World Driver's Championship with a Grand Slam in the Austrian Grand Prix.

The guys break down all the key moments and standouts along with the points leading into the next races, even if it's a month away (for IndyCar).  Phil and Josh spent time on the exploits of George Russell and how productive he has been in recent races for a Williams team that hasn't been competitive for many years.  Will GR63 get the second Mercedes ride alongside the recently re-signed Lewis Hamilton?

The guys discussed SRX and the events at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis (AKA Indianapolis Raceway Park) which saw seven-time Trans-Am champion Ernie Francis, Jr. get his first win in the series before having to drive up to Road America for an early morning race.

For this week's roundup, recaps of W Series and F3 at Austria, WSBK at Donington along with previews of Supercars at Townsville and Formula E in Brooklyn.  Discussion of the Atlanta reconfiguration was combined with previewing the Cup/XFinity races along with the Trucks racing at Knoxville for the first time.   As always, Josh provides his exploits in iRacing during his Sim Segment before closing.
