“Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.” 1 Kings 19:18 The church might not be bowing to Baal but so many are kissing Him! Baal represents Satan: The God of idols. Thousands of faces. God is saying wake up and open your eyes. Sometimes we do the same. It bothers me when we don't show up and eat. My heart grieves because we don't want to press in to come to the table. We can't engage Him, His presence. There is no time with God. The remnant is always engaging His presence. “Every mouth that has not kissed Baal,” God has preserved them. If you focus on what theologians said you are never going to understand what the Spirit is saying. Some drew oil out of themselves. They fill their lamps with oil. They are His church. The remnant. You will get so much oil and you will fill it. We can call everybody the remnant when they are not. Some don't want to give up that bowl of lentil. The Promised Land is the kingdom. The remnant says, “God I won't deny you, I won't let the crowd pull me away from the narrow way.” By Shane W Roessiger
