That’s not even speaking of the myriad of canon events that either didn’t happen or happened very differently. There are also new, original characters along with a complex magic system, and the countless number of sub-plots devised to make this world just a little bit more interesting.
Oh, and Harry is actually affected by ten years of abuse and neglect. It isn’t just blatantly ignored as if it never happened.
