This is the story of Mohan.
In his quest to become independent, he comes to Mumbai as a caretaker of unwell Suhas. While staying in the children's hospital with Suhas, he meets children fighting different diseases, their families, and different people from the hospital world. Slowly the little ones in the ward become 'his children'.

Dr. Anand Nadkarni, M.D, D.P.M (Psychiatrist) has been active in mental health, deaddiction, and various other social spheres for more than four decades. He is an award-winning writer, poet, and playwright. 
The emotions in this book have come alive with narration in his sensitive voice by well-known actor Umesh Kamat.

ही गोष्ट आहे कोकणातल्या सतरा-अठरा वर्षांच्या अनाथ मोहनची. स्वत:च्या पायावर उभे राहण्यासाठी धडपडणारा, आजारी सुहासचा;  ’केअरटेकर’ म्हणून मुंबईला येतो. लहान मुलांच्या हॉस्पिटलमध्ये सुहासबरोबर राहाताना त्याला भेटतात वेगवेगळया आजारांशी सामना देणारी मुले, त्यांचे कुटुंबीय आणि  हॉस्पिटल जगातल्या अनेक व्यक्ती. आजवर येणार्या दिवसापुरता जग्णारया मोहनला हळू हळू स्वत:मधील इतर गुणांची ओळख हाऊ लागते... मुख्यत्वे करुणा आणि सेवाभाव.. जशी त्याला मदत करणारी माणसे भेटतात तशी अडचणी उभ्या करणारी माणसेसुद्धा. हळूहळू वॉर्डातले छोटे, मोहनसाठी ’माझी मुले’ बनून जातात. मोहनच्या जगण्याला एक निश्चित दिशा मिळते. मोहन, सुहास आणि मोहनाच्या मुलांचआ प्रवास सुरूच राहतो, वास्तवाचे भान ठेवून आणि मनातल्या स्वप्नांची जाण ठेवून. ही कहाणी घरातल्या सर्वांनी ऐकण्यासाठी आहे. 

डॉ. आनंद नाडकर्णी, एम. डी., डी. पी. एम. (मनोविकासतज्ज्ञ) हे गेली चार दशके मानसिक आरोग्य,व्यसनमुक्ती तसेच विविध सामजिक क्षेत्रात कार्यरत आहेत.. ते अनेक पुरस्कार प्राप्त लेखक,कवी आणि नाटककार आहेत.
