You may not know it, but I can guarantee you’ve seen some of Steve Strope's creations. He’s been in the pages of Hemmings Muscle Machines, in HOT ROD, Car Craft (may it rest in peace) along with countless others and his vehicles have even been a staple in the Fast and Furious film franchise since the second installment. His designs don’t follow trends, but instead, set them. He’ll also never build the same car twice. Steve Strope of Pure Vision Design in Simi Valley, California is one of those rare builders who can take an already beautiful design and improve upon it to the point where you go, “Dammit! That’s the way it should’ve come from the factory.” From the 1965 T5-R Martini Mustang to the Novaro Nova he crafted for Joe Rogan, to one of his earliest creations, the flame red 1972 Plymouth Satellite dubbed “GTX-R”, Steve has an aesthetic that few can match. This week on the Hemmings Hot Rod BBQ we talk with Steve Strope about how he started, where his inspiration comes from, and how his next creation may be just a little bit different than anything he’s done before.
