It was a real pleasure chatting to Welsh Golf Professional & European Tour player Oliver Farr on the @holinoengolfpodcast this week! Not only is Ollie an exceptional Golfer, but he's also a really great guy and a superb role model for all Golfers. Ollie very generously provides insights back to the game and is a wonderful player & person for both amateurs and young professionals to aspire to be like.

Ollie has recently joined the “UK Swing” on the European Tour and has just enjoyed a great 3rd place finish at the Hero Open around Forest of Arden https://www.europeantour.com/european-tour/hero-open-2020/Ollie also played the Celtic Classic last week and will play the Wales Open this week also around the Celtic Manor Resort 2010 course in Wales (UK) which is where I join him now.

Ollie talks more about life on Tour, balancing family and Golf and provides insights into how his Father - Golf Professional Graham Farr helped build his technique, how he then benefitted from making the decision to play for Wales and use that as a springboard to Amateur success and also solid preparation for turning Professional. Ollie also shares with me how he has improved as a professional, from winning the Euro Pro Tour, to winning Challenge Tour Events and now playing on the European Tour, despite only playing a handful of events in the 2019 season. Oliver Farr's key successes to date:-

· 2004 Wins first big Junior Event in Florida and is coached by his Father

· 2008-2011; Represents Wales in the Home Internationals and at the 2010 Eisenhower Trophy, along with Alastair Jones & Rhys Pugh. Wins Amateur Tournaments such as the famous Duncan Putter, Trubshaw Cup, Gold Cross and Welsh Order of Merit title in 2010.

· 2012 Turns Professional, playing on the Euro Pro Tour

· 2013 Wins Euro Pro Tour, earning Challenge Tour Card.

· 2014 Immediate impact on Challenge Tour winning Turkish Airlines Challenge

· 2015 Plays in the US Open

· 2018 Named Welsh Professional of the year

· 2019 Wins Lalla Aïcha, Morocco, Challenge Tour. Finishes top 15 on Challenge Tour, regaining European Tour Card for 2020.

· Aug 2020 – Hero Open, European Tour; tied 3rd. Wales’ highest ranked golfer. Next event the 2020 Wales Open.
