Welcome back to the Horror 101 Podcast. For this 90th milestone show we're spotlighting one of those rare horror remakes that does it's job well. In 1968 George Romero directed a new kind of horror movie which gave birth to an original new monster, the modern day zombie. After a last minute name change and an error in the title of the film the copyright was essentially lost and this film has ever since been open as public domain. 22 years later special effects wizard Tom Savini was given the opportunity to direct the remake of Romero's classic. We'll speak with Tony Todd and get some of his stories on the production of that film. How did he get the part of Ben? Which actor did he have issues with during the shoot? All that and more coming at you from Horror 101!
