This week we popped Elicia's "John Carpenter's The Thing" cherry! Did she love it? Did she hate it? Tune in to find out...
As you know, we are die-hard fans of special effects, and this is still one of the best uses of it for a horror movie to this day. The Thing was the highest budgeted horror film at the time. The kills are like nothing that had ever been seen before and it was a huge failure at the box office. Critics said it looked "phony" and it was too gory (If only they could see what we got now...) But when it was released on  VHS and television, it became a cult classic and is now revered as one of the greatest horror movies of all time. The moral of the story is never give up...and critics suck.
