Alex Kowalski is the CEO of Performance Complete Metal Solutions, a Little Chute, WI based contract manufacturer of metal assemblies and the CEO of Alta Exchange Group, a company that specializes in investment property sales strategies. He’s also a commercial real estate investor and a member of the Young President’s Organization.

Alex was recruited to play quarterback at Michigan Technological University.  He red-shirted his freshman year, giving him 5 academic years and allowing him to earn a degree in Chemical Engineering as well as a Business degree, the latter of which got him hooked on business.  He also later landed in Michigan Tech’s Athletic Hall of Fame.  He started his career at an International Paper plant in Wisconsin.  While he was working full time there, he first scratched his entrepreneurial itch, starting a recruiting assistance company for high school athletes along with his Alta Exchange business.

Mike and Alex cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, including how his life changed, for the better ultimately, after being fired, to working with and investing with his wife, Holly, a successful entrepreneur in her own right, to recruiting his best friend, Rob, to help him turn around the Performance business and to his belief in the power of the 80/20 principle, popularized for business by the Illinois Tool Works company.  You won’t want to miss Alex sharing the story of how Performance Complete Metal Solutions was transformed by the 80/20 process.
