Marcus Shingles is a Digital Transformation Expert and advisor and on the board of several innovative start-ups. Marcus is the founder of Exponential Destiny (www.ExponentialDestiny.com), focused on training for youths from underserved communities to help re-skill as modern-day “startup” entrepreneurs. This volunteer organization originated from an initiative Marcus championed when “adopting” a South Central Los Angeles public high school to establish a new curriculum to teach “exponential entrepreneurship” in 2015 that is still running today.  http://laschoolreport.com/pilot-program-at-nava-prep-robotics-drones-and-entrepreneurship/

Marcus previously served as the CEO of the XPRIZE Foundation, a non-profit and the global leader in prize and crowdsourcing models for innovation and technology breakthroughs used to solve humanity’s grandest challenges. Marcus has developed and led several programs tailored for cross-functional executive teams to understand, prepare, and capitalize on emerging technologies, including AI, robotics, 3D printing, biotech, nanotech, blockchain, virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).

Mike and Marcus cover a ton of great stuff in this episode like how he got an early mindset to always be ahead of the technology curve, the empowering career path of consulting on technology toolsets that solve problems, how shopping, investing and business is dramatically changing right now with virtual and augmented reality, why universities aren’t educating people for the types of jobs out there, the changes happening now with Venmo, cryptocurrency, and crowd funding, and much more.
