Ryan Keepman is the second-generation President of Evans Transportation, a transportation & logistics management company.

After graduating from UW Madison in 2004, Ryan began his career in sales where he learned the ropes working for Pitney Bowes selling postage meters essentially door to door. From there, he moved to Tri-State Expedited, a freight brokerage company, where his sales career exploded.

Ryan’s Dad, Charlie, and his partner Marty started Evans together in a small, second story office above a storefront in Hartland WI.  That was 1985.  Ryan joined the company in 2007 and started in the accounting department, learning how the business’ finances worked before moving to sales.  During his tenure, Evans has nearly tripled in size to more than $100 Million in annual revenue.  In 2018, Ryan became President when Marty retired from the business.

Mike and Ryan cover a ton of great stuff in this episode, including Ryan’s experience as a UW Football player, his unique birthday parties and his belief in building success one brick at a time.  In addition, Ryan talks about the challenges, and opportunities, that come from living full time in Florida while running his $100 Million company remotely in Wisconsin.  You’re in for a real treat with this episode as Ryan is the “Real Deal” when it comes to an ambitious, caring and humble leader.

This episode is brought to you by ERC Midwest, industry’s solution to complex waste problems.  Manufacturers in all industries count on ERC for fast, friendly, safe and guaranteed hazardous and non-hazardous waste recycling and disposal solutions.  Visit them at www.ercmidwest.com.
