Brad Houser 1960-2023

Yesterday, we lost a great artist/musician and a wonderful human who touched so many lives in our community and all over the world. Brad Houser, bass and saxophone player, founding member of Edie Brickell and New Bohemians, Critters Buggin', The Dead Kenny G's and bass player with Davíd Garza, Suzanna Choffel, Lisa Morales, Patrice Pike and many, many, many more has left this earth, but our hearts. I had a tremendous affection for Brad. I loved watching him play. I cherished the chances I had to play with him and I'll miss laughing with him. Rest in power.

Below are my original notes for the show.

Hello friends! Bass/saxophone player extraordinaire, Brad Houser is my guest for episode 736! You know Brad from countless bands including Critters Buggin', Dead Kenny G's and as a founding member of Edie Brickell & New Bohemians.  Edie Brickell & New Bohemians' gorgeous new album, 'ROCKET" comes out on October 12th and they're hitting the road all over America this fall. Go to ebnewbos.com for their full tour schedule. Brad and I have a great conversation about starting New Bohemians in his parent's garage, the Dallas music scene, life in a successful band, Critters Buggin', the magic of reuniting with New Bohemians and making "ROCKET" and much more! If you want to find out more about Mr. Houser go to basshouser.com. I had a great time hearing Brad's story. I'm sure you will too. Let's get down!
