In this episode, which marks the 3rd episode in the #NormalizeRecovery series, Jenn and Audriannah discuss how the experience of trauma can stall our emotional development and how the recovery process can - in some important ways - mirror the process of recovering from addiction.  The ladies define what a traumatic event is, and debunk the myth that a trauma has to be huge and devastating to have a lasting impact.  Audriannah and Jenn provide the latest research on how the brain and body encode traumatic events in ways that can adversely impact our behavior later in life and discuss how to establish emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological safety to support recovery from trauma.
