I remember reading her book, Codependent No More, in college in 1993. I learned I was codependent. I grew up in an alcoholic dysfunctional household. Once in college I set out to understand my life and Melody Beattie s book was one that helped me. Now it s 2009, 23 years after Codependent No More and she has a new book out The New Codependency: Help and Guidance for Today s Generation.
