What is the REAL Value of Tableau Certifications? - a podcast by John David Ariansen, Elizabeth Illig

In this podcast episode John David and Dr. Hall talk through the real value of getting a Tableau Certification. Dr. Hall holds a PhD in Economics and talks through economic signal theory and how it applies to getting a certification. Essentially, getting a certification can signal that you are a strong candidate. The harder it is to ascertain the certification, the stronger signal that certification sends. For example, a "certificate of completion" when you finish up a LinkedIn course does not send nearly as strong of a signal as passing a certification exam. With an exam there are stakes and no guarantee that you will pass.
