S1E3: Lessons from Decades of Experience - a podcast by The Hub for Youth and Family Ministry

In Season 1, Episode 3, we talked to Dave and Sandy Parker who have served in all kinds of ways in the local church with the bulk of their time being spent in youth and kid’s ministry. Both Dave and Sandy attended Biola University, where Dave graduated with Bible Degree and Sandy with Christian Education degree. Dave also has a MA in Pastoral Ministry from Western Theological Seminary. In 1979, they joined Dave’s father, who pastored a church in Fresno, California, where they both picked up ministry opportunities with the youth and then with Sandy working in children’s ministry. In 2007 Dave was asked to become the associate pastor of discipleship at the church, and in 2015, Dave became one of the teaching pastors at Highview Bible Church, a church plant in the Fresno/Clovis area of central California, with Sandy taking up the responsibilities of children’s ministry. The Trellis and the Vine is a book that deals with how we do church and what may need to change in trusting too much in the organizational structures of the church rather than in the ministry and growth that is to happen in the lives of the people. Big Truth for Young Hearts is a book that was written by a theology professor for his girls and covers the important things that kids 6-14 need to know about God highlighting ten topics of theology.
