His parents raised him in a church that ascribed to an Old Testament philosophy where holidays like Christmas were not observed and the diet was strictly kosher. A change in his family's theology led them to depart the church and put him on the path to attend Dallas Christian College where he secretly attended bar crawls (while dressed as a banana) and met those who would eventually hire him on as marketing for Cyanide & Happiness.
