The energy crisis explained - a podcast by Institute of Economic Affairs
from 2021-09-24T07:57:41
This week the headlines have been dominated by the energy crisis unfolding across Britain and much of the world. A shortage in the supply of gas, causing a spike in energy prices, coupled with a state-imposed price cap has led to energy companies going bust, and larger suppliers unable to meet demand from new customers.
To explain the current energy crisis, Kieran Neild, IEA Communications and Marketing Assistant, was joined by James Forder, our new Academic & Research Director at the IEA and Dr Lawrence Haar, who is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at Brighton University School of Business and Law.
