Volunteerism

“To ease another’s heartache is to forget one’s own.”

― Abraham Lincoln

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope; you will fill yourself with hope.”

― Barack Obama

To whom much is given, much is expected. Most immigrants are beneficiaries of the generosity of the citizens of the United States of America, and it is expected that these immigrants will pass this on.

The citizens of the United States of America are famous for their volunteerism, and many countries of the world have benefited from these selfless acts. Before moving to the US, you might have benefited from the services of an American Peace Corps volunteer or heard the good news of the gospel presented by an American missionary. President John F. Kennedy, while giving his inaugural address on January 20, 1961, said:

“My fellow Americans: Ask not what your country can

do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
