Prof Saji Gopinath has had a transformational impact in his capacity as faculty at IIM Kozhikode and currently as CEO of the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM). In this conversation with his former student Hanish Yadav (Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company), he provides his expert and deep insights on how COVID 19 might reshape global value chains, the opportunities - and challenges - for India to capture new manufacturing FDI, the opportunities for startups arising from COVID 19.

About Prof. Saji Gopinath: Prof. Saji is currently on deputation as CEO of Kerala Startup Mission, the apex body of Govt. of Kerala for supporting the technical entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem in Kerala. Prof Saji has served IIM Kozhikode for over 17 years as Professor, Dean-Academic, and Dean-Development. He also set up the Satellite campus of IIMK at Kochi, IIM Amritsar campus in Amritsar as well as being instrumental in setting up Asia's first Synchronous e-Learning Programme in Executive Management Education - the eMeP program at IIMK. Prof. Saji taught courses on operations management and supply chain management at IIM Kozhikode.

Hanish is a leader in the firm's transport and logistics practice and has worked extensively across India as well as in Africa, the Middle East, and Australia. Hanish also served as an Officer on Special (OSD) to Hon. Suresh Prabhu during his term/s as the Union Minister of Railways and Commerce & Industry, playing a pivotal role in driving transformational initiatives at Indian Railways and driving levers targeting export growth and logistics efficiency for the country.
