“Limiting beliefs” are all the false stories we tell ourselves from a young age if we are not careful in recognising them as such. These stories are mainly based on other people’s opinions, who society thinks we should be, as well as our own negative thoughts and they do not serve any purpose other than holding us back from becoming our best selves. They are just “stories”.

The wise Maya Angelou once said, “When you know better, you do better” and the same is true for breaking free from your limiting beliefs.

In this episode, we discuss how recognising and managing your old beliefs systems can accelerate your career and why all leaders should put more emphasis on helping their people overcome their limiting beliefs so they can achieve more and feel better at work.

Key takeaways:

-Be open about your limiting beliefs with your support network, as they can help you overcome them by nudging you in the right direction.

-When people are not held back by their limiting beliefs, they achieve more and perform better at work.

-Overcoming limiting beliefs is the first step in creating your own reality and doing whatever you want.
