What do Maria Shriver, Leeza Gibbons, Marcia Gay Harden, and Nancy Reagan have in common?  They all cared for loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease. Often just called “Alzheimer’s,” it is the most common form of dementia, a progressive disease which causes a decline in thinking, memory, and language skills.  It is associated with physical decline as well as significant lifestyle and care challenges. While the cause of Alzheimer's disease is unknown, risk factors include aging, genetics, family history, being overweight, and vascular disorders. Unfortunately, in most cases, people with Alzheimer’s cannot advocate for themselves, underscoring the need for care-givers and surrogates. Joining us In The Ladies Room today to discuss this is Carleen Kelly, Co-Founder of SUNARiS Health, a marketing communications agency in New York City. Carleen’s love for science and how medicine helps patients improve their quality of life was the motivation for getting started in the pharmaceutical industry. She has passionately worked in marketing, sales, and communications within the industry for over 25 years.
