70: Dr. Alison Escalante -- Are you Caught in a Should Storm? Making a Dent in the Anxiety Epidemic - a podcast by Dr. Donnica Moore

Today we’re talking with Dr. Alison Escalante about one of the biggest epidemics facing Americans: Anxiety. Chances are pretty high that you’ve experienced anxiety first hand; as we’ve discussed previously in episode 61 of this podcast with psychologist Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg, a survey done by the organization HealthyWomen revealed that 96 percent of American women say they have suffered from anxiety.  More alarmingly, 81 percent said they suffer from it at least weekly. Dr. Escalante has an interesting perspective on the anxiety epidemic as both a parent and as a pediatrician who counsels parents on a daily basis about what she calls the “Should Storm”, which I will let her tell you all about.
